I’ve been building things since I was a little boy—from Lego creations and Home Depot birthday parties to firework launchers (sorry again, Mom) and cabins in Colorado. No matter the medium, the drive was always the same: curiosity.
Building is the same for me as painting. It is a way that allows you to get what’s only in your mind out into the world. Since the first van, I have been on a mission to help people get their dream van out of their head and on to the road, the back woods, the beach or where ever you find your path. It is a true honor to build these vans and I can’t wait to hear about what you're dreaming of.

About Our Founder
MY NAME IS Brett
Born and raised in Austin, TX, I discovered my passion for building while constructing cabins in Colorado. After a camping trip inspired me to live out of my car, I bought a van in 2015 and began converting it.
This led to three years of traveling the country, building custom homes for adventure seekers. Now, I’ve settled back in Austin, running Chewy Design Co. from our dedicated warehouse, where we’ve crafted over 60 custom camper vans. My goal is to bring each client’s vision to life with creativity and craftsmanship.
